Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is the largest and oldest institution of higher learning in Chhattisgarh. It is founded in 1964. It is named after the first CM of erstwhile Madhya Pradesh.

The campus of PRSU is spread in 207 acres. There are 29 teaching departments. The University has a sprawling campus in Raipur. 180 educational institutions are affiliated to the University.
