The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education was come into existence on 1st Jan, 1966. It was established to regulate matters pertaining to secondary education
in the state. The Act was amended in 1977 and the board name was become “The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher SecondaryEducation. The Board plays an immense role towards development of educational standards. It introduced innovations in the education field over 3 decades.
